Soldier shoots self dead in Handwara
Handwara, CNS,20-Jan: A soldier committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in North Kashmir’s Handwara town.
Official sources confirmed that soldiers of 21 RR Bagatora Handwara Camp heard some gunshots and rushed to the spot to ascertain the facts, they found a sentry in a pool of blood with a head injury. He was taken to Sub District Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The victim was identified as Lance Naik Shiv Kumar.
“The reason behind the soldier taking the extreme could not be immediately known”, they said.
Meanwhile, a police official confirming the incident and said that a case has been registered in this regard under section 174 Cr.PC for due investigations.(CNS)
