JeI case: SIA raids multiple locations across Kashmir
Srinagar,CNS,24-Dec: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) carried out raids at many locations across Kashmir on Saturday morning as part of its investigation in a case registered against Jamat-e-Islami (JeI).
Official sources confirmed that on the recommendations of SIA, properties at many locations in Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama and Kulgam were attached.
In Srinagar, sleuths of SIA raided the property of late Syed Ali Shah Geelani at Bulbul Bagh, Barzulla and conducted searches there. The property was attached as per the orders of the District Magistrate.
In central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Madina complex property at Magam was attached and notified in terms of section 8 UA (P) Act by a team of SIA along with Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Similarly, the team at Mazhama installed the restriction notice on the un-functional Darsgah of JeI consisting of 02 rooms with 6 malras land. At Ompora Budgam the property of JeI was attached by the same team of SIA.
Reports said that searches were conducted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and at least nineteen properties were attached by teams of SIA.
In Kulgam, 16 kanal 18 malras land, building along with 2 shed has been seized at Chattabal area. In Redwani area bright public school and 4 shops were attached. At hawoora Kulgam, one room having baitul maal was also attached.
Pertinently, SIA has identified as many as 188 JeI properties across J&K which have either been notified or are under the process of being notified for further legal action. The raids and property attachment are being conducted in connection with a case under FIR No 17 of 2019 under Sections 10, 11, and 13 of Police Station Batamaloo being investigated by the SIA. (CNS)
