Drug peddler arrested in Budgam, contraband substance recovered.
Budgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
During naka checking at Lalpora crossing, one person was intercepted by police party of Police Station Beerwah, when police party asked him to stop he tried to flee from from the spot but naka party chased and apprehended him tactfully.
During search police party recovered Charas like substance in the shape of rods wrapped in maize cob leaves (04 NOs) weighing 100 grams & 03 Strips of Anxit-0.5, Alprazolam tablets (45 tablets) from his possession.
He was arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Tauseef Ahmad Wani S/O Ghulam Mohammad Wani R/O Lalpora Beerwah
Case FIR number 32/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation taken up.“`
