Under the operation “Drugs free kulgam”; one more drug peddler has been arrested by kulgam police
Kulgam: April 16, 2023 : Kulgam police is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
Under the supervision of of SSP kulgam, yesterday at about *1515 hours* a special team of police officers was constituted which was led by IC PP Mirbazar and established Naka checking and frisking of suspicious persons/vehicles. During the Naka checking near *Palpora Crossing* on NHW-44 the said team of Police kulgam was able to intercept one suspicious person who disclosed his identity as *John Mohammad Sheikh S/O Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh R/O Raithan Budgam A/P Zadoora, Mirbazar* who was carrying a bag. During the search of the said bag, the officers present were able to recover *Cannabis powder* like contraband substance which was weighing around *2.8 KG* from the said bag. The said person was arrested on the spot.
Regarding this incident, a Case *FIR No. 69/2023 U/S 8/20* of NDPS Act stands registered in *Police Station Qazigund* and further investigation has been set into motion.
